Dealer profitability up as supermarkets look at car retailing

 seat_dealer_exterior_250Large franchised dealer groups ended last year in a better financial position than they did in 2008, despite new car sales falling to a 14-year low.
 While the new block exemption will encourage supermarkets to look at car retailing and manufacturers to increase factory-owned networks.

These are amongst the findings of Bryan Consulting's 2010 Review Of The UK Franchised Retail Motor Industry.
The research found groups were ahead in year on year profitability in 2009 with average net margin and shareholder return being greater than 2007.
